Rain along with Lots of Sun and Fun! Nashville Flea March 2010

This months Nashville Fair Grounds flea market had it all.  Along with some fabulous buys for my antique store and ok...for myself (home)  There's just too much temptation for buying at this show.   Here is one of my buys, a stunning antique amethyst pin.  The back pin is broken off so I might make myself a necklace.

Selling was wonderful....I came home with just about a empty trailer, keep in mind I go up with two trailers and two truck loads for sale. Empty trailers equals.... Love hearing how my customers love my stuff also!

Here is a wonderful gal that showed up in my booth and this time I grabbed my camera as I loved the way she was dressed.  Check out that hot pink Vintage Coat and those boots!!  Made me smile!

She is starting up a new blog soon!   Sure to be fantastic!

I met so many wonderful people in person that said they had found my blog! Me...little old me with no gift of writing and just starting up blogging in December. Really made my day at the show! I had what I call Sally Fields moments ..."they liked me...they really liked me" and someone is reading. Oh my! Hugh thank you!

I was blessed to have met in person Gina...she has a Oh so Fun shop & blog theshabbychiccottage.net
as she is set up right across from me over in Shed 4.

What a wonderful talented lady that hand-makes all of her items. After arriving home I was so bummed to realize that I forgot to buy some of her antique French writing wood clothes pins.

Why? Because they would of been awesome to hang my antique lace & barkcloth items for display. Or the clothes pins with sparkles shown below instead as I could use some sparkle right about now waking up this morning.

I know she has a etsy site- so maybe I will just order ...hope this link works... http://www.etsy.com/shop/TheShabbyChicCottage I am just too new to the blog world to know for sure how to do a link correct.

Took a few pictures of my stash that is in my attic waiting for projects.  The project she was wondering about is the old bed bench I made up.  See more pictures of it below.

Alas I have already packed it up- for the upcoming show so cannot show you the piece finished.  Huge sigh!
Cheers!

Nashville Antique Flea Market this Week

This week we are doing things a bit different.  Usually Charlie, Gary and I have our Brick Store "Hills Chapel Antiques" in Nashville open during the Nashville Flea Market.  Charlie and Gary get to do the Flea Market while I have the store open.   Needless to say of course while I love our store- the outdoors is where I want to be.  So this month we are All going to be at the Nashville Flea Market and close our store for this week.

I checked the weather for this weekend in Nashville and they say the sun will be out this Saturday! So looking forward to seeing everyone this weekend! We are outside under the white canopy.
Here is a picture from last month

Nashville Flea Market & Brick Store Hills Chapel Antiques Work

My brick store in Nashville is open this week Wednesday Thur Saturday Noon till PM and we are also getting ready for another Nashville Flea Weekend this March 26 Thur March 28.

It has been such a busy week.  One of my projects is just about finished.  An antique old bed no one wanted ..except for me of course.  It is one of those old ones that is just about unusable nowadays as it is what is known as a three quarters size bed.  Bigger than a twin but smaller than a full size bed.  So I made a bench.
Here it is just about done.

Here it is before the headboard

Now to finish ...perhaps wax and add some antique roses old linoleum for seat area.
Would love to sew a cushion...alas no talent in sewing.

Nashville Flea Market Was a Blast!

I am back after resting up from the February Flea Market.
I have to say I Had a Blast!  I love everything about the flea markets.  Alas I have to say I stayed so busy I did not manage to shop much.  BUT on my way to the rest rooms I did manage to buy two items.
A hat with my logo on it for those no time for hair days.
$10.00 for the hat and it Included the embroidery!
From SOLDFolder
I also bought this pair of silver earring's made from the ends of antique spoons $12.00

I was so blessed in meeting a very talented Local blogger Amy and her son.
Check out her blog.  She found some awesome items at the flea and shows you what she did with them.

Photobucket
Sold a ton of items...but believe it or not ...not the beds.
So they are now set up in my Nashville Store.

Next Nashville Flea Market is this March 26th through March 28th.
